Earlier today (Nov. 9), Metro Boomin took to Twitter to vent some frustrations he has with his peers. He argues that Future's torrid 12-month run--one in which the young producer played a major role, helming last October's Monster and handling much of the work on this summer's Dirty Sprite 2--has led to a flood of imitators dropping projects too frequently.

And while DatPiff, Audiomack, LiveMixtapes and your consciousness at large have no doubt been drowning in new .zips, some young artists are taking that less-is-more approach. West Chester University's Tunji Ige has gotten plenty of mileage out of last year's The Love Project, dropping videos for its songs as recently as this fall. His latest single, "On My Grind," alludes to the work ethic necessary to make weather-tested music, complete with Slick Rick references.
