August Alsina connects with Lil Wayne for “Why I Do It,” which is the lead single off of his new album This Thing Called Life. Produced by Go Grizzly, the two NOLA natives drop a banger. Wayne starts off the song in grand style while August comes right after, lacing together sweet melodies and delivering a catchy hook that will be surely get stuck in your head. Weezy comes back and delievers another strong verse. "If you lookin for your woman she just hopped off/If you lookin for some trouble ain't gotta look far/I put that dick in her stomach she holla 'good lawd'/I put that dick in her stomach she holla 'good God'/These niggas claim that they thuggin they know they good boys/My niggas call me K.G. cause I'm the Kush God/And my coupe don't need a key, I'm talking push, start," raps Wayne. August and Wayne have collabed in the past on a remix to "Kissin On My Tattoos."

Following the success of the former XXL Freshman's debut album, Testimony, August has had a couple of health scares. He released "Hip-Hop" back in April and the music video in June. Listen to "Why I Do It" above.
