People should have stopped questioning Boosie Badazz's bona fides a decade ago. "I'm really out my mind/I just came home from doing time, money on my mind," he raps on "Really Really," over production that sounds like the polyphonic ringtone era if it had taken place on the moon. After his March 2014 release from Angola, Boosie started on a tear that has been virtually unmatched in hip-hop, dispatching a series of breathtaking singles (the sauntering "Crazy," the evil seer of "Black Rain"), a stellar mixtape in Life After Deathrow and, finally, the victory lap that was this year's Touchdown 2 Cause Hell. But in recent weeks, the Baton Rouge hero has been plagued by less-than-positive headlines, from health issues marring his concerts to a parole officer who reportedly has barred the rapper from playing club shows, presumably one of his main sources of income.
