Soulja Boy is not someone you want to cross--that is, if the video for "Whippin' My Wrist" is to be believed. The single, set to appear on the Youtube pioneer's forthcoming album, King Soulja 4, chronicles Soulja and his cronies stalking, catching and, eventually, exacting revenge on someone who made the grave mistake of stealing from the crew. Guest starring Vine star Logan Paul, the video is exactly what you want from any gangster flick, polished guns, moral ambiguity and all. It also features raucous shots of Soulja Boy and his cohorts in a stodgy boardroom, which is the exact environment you go to when you want to have some fun off the books.

King Soulja 4 is scheduled to come out July 28; it is preceded by Loyalty, which was released earlier this year. Soulja Boy first rose to prominence in 2007, when his "Crank Dat" (and its accompanying dance) became a national sensation. Among the first artists to take a do-it-yourself approach to online promotion and marketing, the rapper--real name DeAndre Way--has since become a kind of spirit guide for the most left-leaning, avant-garde acts in the genre. To wit, he released a mixtape with Lil B all the way back in 2010, before the Berkeley curiosity became a full-fledged swag savant.
