Freddie Gibbs Action Bronson Joey Badass Ransom Knicks Remix

One of the easy highlights from Pinata is "Knicks." It's a piece of tight songwriting combined with a simple but resonating concept: Times change, but some things — like the pain of losing a wrongfully killed friend and the Knicks sucking — remains. The remix featuring Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$ (who've collaborated before) and Ransom wisely doesn't look to push the concept, but rather expand on it.

Gibbs talks about a friend who was killed by police in the original cut. In remix, it's painfully noted that he's one of many: "Another Darren Wilson, they get a badge every week/ RIP to Michael Brown and motherfuck the police." The features (with the exception of Action Bronson's verse, which is a whole 'nother beast) follow Gibbs lead at their own tempos.

The remix is part of the Knicks Remix EP, which is worth a purchase just because of the back cover alone (a picture of the 1969-70 Knicks team — the franchise's first champions). Check that out below after streaming the song above.
