Nearly two weeks after being arrested for possession of a knifeJ Hus has officially been granted bail, NME reports.

If you recall, the British MC was arrested late last month on June 21 after he was stopped by an unmarked police car in Stratford, London. After authorities searched his vehicle, the 23-year-old was arrested for “suspicion of being in possession of a knife or bladed article.” Hus was detained and taken into custody where he was initially denied bail at a Thames magistrates court, and was set to remain behind bars until his scheduled trial date on July 20.

However, the Common Sense rapper was granted bail set at £100,000 ($131,965) and has since left police custody. While J is now a free man, he still has to face a trial for the aforementioned charges as well as a handful of other issues. In light of his run-in with the law, J was dropped from his upcoming performance at this weekend's Wireless Festival, The Independent has learned. His set time was instead given to other burgeoning artists such as Krept & Konan, Avelino, and Chip.

Additionally, the conditions of his bail restrict his movement heavily, banning him from entering specific areas in London including Hackney, Barking, Dagenham, and Tower Hamlets.

Hopefully, this new chapter in J. Hus' life will serve as inspiration to follow up his surprise EP Big Spang with more deft, introspective rhymes.
