False alarm. Nothing to see here. The Punch Line King is still on his throne. After getting fans in a frenzy by appearing to spell out his retirement from rap on Friday (March 16), Lloyd Banks is setting the record straight.

As previously reported, Banks hopped on Twitter yesterday, and appeared to announce he was hanging up the mic with a heartfelt goodbye. "I fell in love with Hip Hop over 25 years ago," he wrote. "It was that thing I turned to during good times and bad..just wanna say thank you to the artist B4 me that inspired me..and send my appreciation to everyone that supported me till this day THANK YOU!!"

He added, "With that being said..I think it’s time to lay it down."  Fans clearly thought the worst. After hearing all the fuss over his tweets, the Queens MC again hopped on Twitter to quell concerns, using a clip of wrestler Ric Flair, who exclaims, "I have to announce to you, that I will never retire!"

The "End of an Era" rapper added in a follow-up tweet, "Just goes to show you what a mess the industry has become..they’ll rather cover everything that happens around the music..than the actual music itself..I hope all these outlets support me when I drop..have a good day."
