Today (March 24), the March for Our Lives rally, a protest for gun control, is happening all over the country, with the main event going down in the capital of Washington, D.C., and auxiliary marches happening throughout the world. Various hip-hop artists have shown up and participated in the inaugural event including the likes of Kanye West, Common, Vic Mensa and more.

With the recent shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. serving as the catalyst, students put the major demonstration together with the help of the nonprofit organization Everytown for Gun Safety, with the motive to have the masses be heard when it comes to gun safety.

Kanye and Kim Kardashian were spotted at the event, standing out in the sea of humanity. Kim documented the special moment on social media, sharing a touching photo of 'Ye and daughter North embracing. "I’m so happy I got to share this moment with these two ❤️❤️." she captioned the pic on Twitter. "I hope North remembers this forever."

Vic Mensa and Common, along with Andra Day, performed at the event. Lin Manuel-Miranda also had a part in the function.

Organizers and attendees are hoping this event will serve as a turning point for gun legislation.
