There has been a fair share of dope albums to hit the market thus far in 2016, but how well did they fair commercially on Billboard's illustrious 200 chart? Well, when the smoke cleared, only six hip-hop albums broke into the top spot, and of those six, one truly dominated.

It's no secret that Drake's long-awaited Views album made the term "all summer 16" come to fruition. Since its release, which pushed more than 800,000 units in its first seven days, the project has ruled the No. 1 spot. Views only took momentary dips to let albums like DJ Khaled's Major Keys and Frank Ocean's Blonde breath briefly before reclaiming the throne.

Drake's behemoth suppressed other notable albums from topping the chart with the some of the biggest projects being Schoolboy Q's Blank Face LP and Gucci Mane's first post-jail release, Everybody Looking. But Kanye West's widely bootlegged The Life of Pablo managed to squeeze into the top spot despite being available for weeks before its physical release and Travis Scott's highly lauded new release, Birds in the Trap Sing Brian McKnight moved Drizzy's project out of the way as well.

Here at XXL, we've taken the liberty of rounding up the hip-hop albums that sat at the top of the Billboard 200 throne in 2016. Plus check out the top tracks for each in case you've been sleeping in the gallery above.
