Kanye West is notorious for fine tuning his music to achieve the best sound, but on Tuesday night (Jan. 26) he enacted a different type of change, nixing Swish as the title of his seventh studio album for the more coastal sounding name Waves. There have been a number of different reactions to the switch and not all of them positive. While Wiz Khalifa took the new title with mild offense, citing Max B as the creator and owner of all things wave and wavy, other artists offered different takes on Twitter.

Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins, who released the EP Wave[s] in August 2015 joked that his new album title will be Swish, while John Mayer celebrated the fact that Swish was now once again up for grabs. Questlove may have spoken for the collective music listening public when he wrote "Wait what?," as Kanye's new album whatever it may be called, is just over two weeks from dropping on Feb. 11.

The name change is indicative of the fact that Kanye is still tinkering with some of the particulars of the album, and since posting a handwritten track list, he's added an additional 11th song that is leading many to believe that A$AP Rocky has been added to the album's roster of features. As speculation and anticipation grow, we've assembled some of the best reactions from Twitter users, famous and non-famous alike, to Kanye's name change above. The rapper has always been able to get the people going and Tuesday night was no different.
