Today, Nov. 10, is the birthday of West Coast rapper Warren G, who now turns 48.

The Regulator started his career in 1990 by linking up with childhood friends Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg. They formed their group “213”, which they named after their Long Beach area code. The group split after Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg signed deals with Death Row Records. Warren G had the option too, but he decided to work on his solo career—a choice that's paid off in the long run.

To date, G has dropped six studio albums and 1 EP, most recently Regulate... G Funk Era, Pt. II back in August of 2015, with 2 $hort, Jeezy, Bun B and E-40 making guest appearances on the project. To this day, G still performs his G-funk laced hits around the country.

Happy Birthday, Warren G!
