Lil Kim’s ex-boyfriend Damion “World” Hardy was found guilty of ordering the murders of six people. The New York Posts reports Hardy gave the orders out to fellow gang member Aaron (E-Bay) Granton who carried out the hits. Granton was also found guilty of carrying out killings.

Hardy led a gang that is based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The gang, Cash Money Brothers, were prominent throughout the 1990s, terrorizing the area for a decade. The gang bought and sold drugs at a high rate until 2003 when federal agents pinned eight kilograms of cocaine from JFK airport on the Cash Money Brothers, says the New York Times. Assistant U.S. Attorney Soumya Dayananda told the jury that Hardy was the central figure in a 'world of violence' he created with his gang in the Lafayette Gardens housing project. Hardy, who suffers from schizophrenia, was arrested in 2004. The case dragged on for years because lawyers argued he was not fit for trial because of his condition. During that ten year delay some of Hardy's henchmen came forward, pleading guilty and giving evidence against their former drugs boss, which lead to his conviction

Judge Frederic Block ruled Hardy was sane enough to face trial and he was forcibly medicated in the courtroom following a successful bid by prosecutors. Hardy has been in federal custody since August of 2004.

Hardy once lived with Kim at her New Jersey home and reports say that he was engaged to the rapper at one point.
