Lil Kim's ex-boyfriend Damion "World" Hardy is currently on trial for numerous charges including six murders he is accused of ordering. According to the New York Daily News, Hardy was allegedly responsible for the 1998 assassination of a bouncer in a Brooklyn roller skating center and for the 2003 murder of a former bodyguard of Mike Tyson.

Hardy is said to be the founder of the Cash Money Brothers gang that was founded in the Bed-Stuy area of Brooklyn. The gang bought and sold drugs at a high rate until 2003 when federal agents pinned eight kilograms of cocaine from JFK airport on the Cash Money Brothers, says the New York Times. Hardy has been in federal custody since August of 2004.

“[Hardy] handed out death sentences with a simple line: ‘He has to go,’ ” said prosecutor Rena Paul during the opening statements of the trial at Brooklyn Federal Court. “World’s order was to kill on sight.”

The Daily News also reports that Hardy has asked Lil Kim and Foxy Brown for money to hire high-profile defense attorney Benjamin Brafman, who has P. Diddy amongst his list of clients. Last week, his current lawyer argued that the former drug lord is unfit to stand trial due to a mental illness. Since being incarcerated, Hardy has been diagnosed and treated as a paranoid schizophrenic and he told a jail psychiatrist that he would be willing to cut a deal with the government and accept a 15-year plea deal. At this time, no plea deal meetings have been arranged and Hardy is standing trial.

Hardy once lived with Kim at her New Jersey home and reports say that he was engaged to the rapper at one point.
