Kendrick Lamar kicked off the month dropping the video for the To Pimp A Butterfly single "King Kunta" where the rap star mobs through Compton showing off the sights of his hometown. Today, we get behind-the-scenes footage from the The Lil Homies and Director X-directed video, which looked like it was a blast to be a part of. The video originally premiered in Times Square in New York City before dropping worldwide hours later. It was recorded in part at the Compton Fashion Center Liquor & Market.

In the behind-the-scenes footage shot by TDE's Christian San Jose, the crew takes up back to the corner store where Kendrick raps for much of the video. It then moves on to the block where the raucous scene was filmed where Lamar mobs with the lil homies before ending up at the epic scene in front of the Compton Swap Meet.

Kendrick Lamar's critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly, landed on the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks partially off the strength of "King Kunta" and the Grammy winning single "i." It was recently announced K Dot would headline Hot 97's Summer Jam 2015 performing with the likes of Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Fabolous, Big Sean, Trey Songz and more.
