The Lil Wayne and Birdman beef looks like it is heading to the courtroom. Now, Weezy is threatening the Cash Money label owner with a lawsuit claiming he is owed $8 million, reports TMZ.

According to the report, the two tried to work things out earlier this week, but negotiations fell through. Now Wayne wants a judge to allow him to break free from his Cash Money Records contract claiming Baby violated the terms of his deal by withholding the release of Tha Carter V. The Young Money head claims Birdman also failed to pay him an $8 million advance on his last album which he plans to sue for.

Things have been publically off axis over at Cash Money since Wayne announced on Twitter he wanted off his longtime label back in December. He later confirmed the news during a show in NYC. Despite Wayne's grumbles, Baby insisted he would not let his power player off his roster causing Weezy to threaten with a lawsuit. Things reportedly turned even more sour between the two when Wayne took several shots at Birdman and Cash Money on his latest mixtape, Sorry 4 The Wait 2.

Despite all the drama, Young Money president Mack Maine insists Tha Carter V will drop in the next few months.
