TBS Cancels Cee-Lo’s Show ‘The Good Life’
TBS is dropping Cee-Lo’s show. According to The Hollywood Reporter the network has decided to cancel his unscripted series The Good Life after one season.
The cancellation comes after the Goodie Mob front man wrote a few controversial tweets about the nature of rape.
"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! So WITH implies consent," Cee-Lo wrote. "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" he added.
Apologizing and deleting the comments did not stop them from making a permanent mark. Women’s group Ultra Violet petitioned TBS to cancel The Good Life, which ultimately led to the show’s end.
The news comes after Cee-Lo pleaded no contest to a felony drug charge stemming from a 2012 case where he was accused of sexual assault.
Sources tell THR that the show was canceled solely based on its poor ratings, but his tweets probably didn't help.
