DJ Mustard continues to be a force in hip-hop. Over the last two years, Mustard has established himself as a hitmaker as shown in his collaborations with Tyga, YG, Ty Dolla $ign, TeeFLii, and more. He’s also branched out from his West Coast peers and produced for big stars like Jeremih and Trey Songz. Even with Mustard’s success, there are still some records he hoped to put his tagline on. During his Brisk Bodega show in NYC last weekend, we caught up with the Roc Nation producer to ask him about five songs he wishes he produced. He then gave us the most direct description of his upcoming album 10 Summers (due out Aug. 12): “It’s gonna be a movie.” Get your popcorn ready.—Eric Diep

"We Found Love" (2011)

Artist: Rihanna Featuring Calvin Harris
Producer: Calvin Harris
DJ Mustard: I’m a big fan of Calvin Harris. I wish I produced “We Found Love” with Rihanna. That song is just dope and it made a lot of money. Money isn’t really my motivation when I make beats. I already got money now. It’s more of a passion than a hobby for me now. At first, it was just like, “Let’s just make money.” Now, when you get money, you get a house, take care of your people. It’s moreso you want to learn more about more stuff. Now, I’m just really involved in learning and trying to build my path.

"Summer" (2014)

Artist: Calvin Harris
Producer: Calvin Harris
DJ Mustard: I wished I produce “Summer” by Calvin Harris. It’s like his new single. I just really love the song. I wished I produced that. It just sounds happy. It’s not your typical music. It just really makes a lot of sense. I like it.

"Seen It All" (2014)

Artist: Jeezy Featuring Jay Z
Producer: Cardo
DJ Mustard: Cardo is my dog, too. I’m really happy that’s he is doing what he is doing now. He come from a long way. Me and Cardo, I’ve known him for a long time so for him to have that success is good. I want everybody around me to win so I think that was dope. I’m sure having Jeezy and Jay on my beat will happen. You never know. They both gave each other a run for their money. They both did their thing, so it was dope.

"Get Her Back" (2014)

Artist: Robin Thicke
Producer: Robin Thicke
DJ Mustard: I re-produced it. I made my own version of it. I just like the sound. I just like Robin Thicke. The music is just dope. I remixed it and I put it out for free.

"Cry Me A River" (2002)

Artist: Justin Timberlake
Producer: Timbaland
DJ Mustard: Timbaland is a genius. I don’t understand how he made all those sounds come together. It was dope though. That’s the big homie, I talk to Timb all the time. He give me a lot of good advice. I couldn’t say anything bad about Timbaland. I never say nothing bad about him. He’s one of the greatest.
