300 Entertainment Partners with Migos And Quality Control Music

UPDATE: 300 Entertainment has added a new Atlanta artist to their growing roster. 300 announced their new partnership with Quality Control Music for artists Migos and Johnny Cinco.

Migos released a new commercial version of their latest mixtape, No Label II, on June 3. No Label II features the hit single “Fight Night” and “New Atlanta” featuring Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug and Jermaine Dupri.

Quality Control Music is based in Atlanta and founded by Pierre “Pee” Thomas, former CEO of Dirty Dolla Ent.

It looks like there’s some clarity to Young Thugs’ contract situation. Industry OG Kevin Liles was on Revolt TV and confirmed that Thugga is indeed on 300—a new label launched by himself along with Lyor Cohen and Todd Moscowitz.

“We have a deal with Young Thug that I’m excited about,” Liles confirmed. Liles also confirmed the signing of fellow Atlanta group, Migos.

Not quite a record label, not quite a marketing company, the new venture is trying to create a template for the future of the music industry—which is why Cohen has named it 300, after the famous Spartan battle against the Persians, mythologized in the movie 300. 300 joined forces with Twitter in February to create A&R tools that will benefit the whole music business. One artist that’s signed to the label is Seattle’s Raz Simone.

The mystery of Young Thug’s contract situation has been well documented. An in-depth investigation by Buzzfeed revealed that the ATL rapper was signed to Atlantic Records imprint Artist Partners Group since the fall of 2013 in a “full-blown 360 deal” for a total of $30,000, while also signing to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad imprint via Atlantic Records.
