Athleisure-wear apparel remains one of the trendiest get-ups in 2016. After the success of Nike and adidas' lightweight and innovative athletic gear, several streetwear brands and high-end fashion lines have decided to take the athletic contemporary look and release collections themed after the current trend in fashion.

In last month’s Vogue magazine, the publication premiered the latest NikeLab x RT: Training Redefined campaign, which featured hip-hop acts Travi$ Scott and Fetty Wap as models of the upcoming collection. The capsule takes cues from previous Nike running collections and adds a touch of high-end Italian fashion with its patterns and premium materials.

Back in early 2016, coveted streetwear brand Bape unveiled its first running collection, compromised of stylish men's leggings, 3M reflective track jackets, lightweight shorts, breathable mesh tees and a set of running sneakers. Well-received by consumers of the Japanese brand, the collection sold out in a matter of minutes with the demand for a rerelease from A Bathing Ape aficionados.

With plenty of more streetwear brands taking the athleisure-wear approach these days, and the weather starting to heat up all across the U.S., XXL has decided to round up the best running collections and collaborations released in the past few years.
