The 2016 Rio Summer Olympics kick off this August in Brazil. To commentate the legendary sporting event, the Jordan Brand plans to release an alternate version of the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” that will tie in with the summer games in Rio De Janeiro .

Taking cues from the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” that Michael Jordan wore on the court during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, the Jumpman unveils a similar version of the shoe with a number of changes. Dressed in white, gold, deep blue, fire red and Iron colorway, the shoe features a white leather upper with hits of deep blue on the shoes underlays. This Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternate” is said to be one of the colorways that the Jordan Brand was considering releasing during the 1992 Olympics. However, plans changed for the American sportswear company and the result ended in MJ balling in the classic “Olympic” version.

The Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternate” is set to drop at select Nike retailers starting Aug. 16. The shoe will retail for a suggested price of $190 and drops in the midst of the Rio Olympics.
