Just days after footage surfaces of Lyor Cohen yelling at Young Thug to stop freestyling so many songs and abandoning them like "little orphans," the Atlanta rapper has announced his new I Came From Nothing 4 mixtape.

Seeing how the head of Thug's label wants to focus on album-quality songs, he might not like this news too much.

Thug's already dropped two tapes this year - I'm Up and Slime Season 3. This latest one comes out of the clear blue sky, especially since 300 aimed to kill off the Slime Season phase of Thug's career with the final installment.

Then again, the rapper born Jeffrey Atkins doesn't seem easily tamable. As much as the label hopes to hone his skills and make him a star, he's still got rough edges about him. Whether those endure or soften for wider success will be the story of Thug's career.

We haven't forgotten about the tape he was supposed to do with Fetty Wap too, though the chances of that one happening are probably slim to none, despite the two being on the same record label.

In a new episode of Follow the Leader, CNBC follows Lyor into the offices of 300 as he sits and argues with Thug about his recording process.

"This year I want ten No. 1 singles," says Thug in the clip below.

"Ten? If you don't freestyle and you actually work on the singles and record great choruses and develop your songs, yes," answers Lyor. "You just record so many songs and leave them like little orphans out there. You have to come back to them."

"No I don't," Thug replies nonchalantly.
