Ye Ali Joins Frvrfriday on New Song “Free Up”

After previously teaming up with K Camp and Eric Bellinger, singer-rapper Ye Ali is back with a new track.

For his latest work, the Los Angeles-based artist links up with Frvrfriday and Shabazz for the song "Free Up." Ali shows off his bars on the track's second verse, rapping, "Grown man hands out, man who raised you?/I cut a finger off to get my hand rich/God gave me a flow so I ran with it/My passport tatted, I been stampin' it/She gave me head to 'Usher – Can U Handle It.'"

The trap-influenced R&B track blends Frvrfriday and Ye Ali's sing-rap style perfectly, as the two lay down their smooth vocals over the Frvrfriday-produced beat. The track is featured on Frvrfriday's latest EP, Offline.

XXL caught up with Ye Ali last year as the artist was just beginning to take off. The self-described "Traphouse Jodeci" artist revealed to us his goal in hip-hop, saying, "My goal in music is to make great music and inspire people."

He added, "I think [it's] so important to just stay true to the music. You can take away everything else and still have music. You can take away music then you don’t have everything else. Like you can understand the foundation, which you’re building your music off of."
