Even though Azealia Banks is pretty new to the game, she’s not too far away from cashing out. The Harlem rapper/singer has put out successful independent releases and has a major label debut dropping soon, but she is already looking to the future. And that future might not involve rap. Banks recently sat down with HypeTrak at the Clockenflap music festival in Hong Kong, where she discussed the possibility of dropping two albums in 2013, then calling it quits.

“If I have things my way, if the universe allows me to do things the way I want to do them, I want to get two albums out in 2013,” she said, adding that they may mean the end of her career as a rapper. “Not necessarily take a break, but do some more sound research and come up with a different style.” She continued, “I’d eventually like to stop rapping. That’s the honest truth. One day I don’t want to rap anymore. Just because I think it’s…easy, buts I think it’s kind of tacky. I think it’s very unlady like. I like it. But, I think I’m going to get tired of it.”

Banks’ debut album, Broke with Expensive Taste, is slated to drop first quarter of 2013.
