Last night, R. Kelly held a screening for the latest installment of his “Trapped In The Closet” series at New York City’s Sunshine Theater. After the screening, Kells took the floor for a Q&A, where he revealed he’d been offered a deal to transform his cult-following series into a Broadway musical. In regards to the future of the series, he also added “I’ve got 85 chapters of “Trapped in the Closet” waiting in the studio for y’all”. Kelly also told the audience it wouldn’t take another five years to produce the next installment, before wrapping up the night’s festivities with an a capella performance of “I Believe I Can Fly”. The new chapters of “Trapped In The Closet” will debut on IFC this Friday.— XXL Staff
