For those that were fans of the Def Jux movement in the early aughts, Cannibal Ox’s debut effort The Cold Vein earned the respect as a near underground classic. Produced entirely by El-P, the 2001 release was never followed up with a sophomore LP. Fans were just fed with solo efforts from Vast Aire and Vordul Mega that were good, but nowhere exciting as their collaborative project. Now, over 10 years after the release of The Cold Vein, the Harlem duo will reunite on stage and perform songs off their beloved project at the Knitting Factory of Brooklyn on December 9. For fans of the group, or any Def Jux junkie, this is a rare moment to witness the group at its best. Purchase the ticket here.—Jaeki Cho (@JaekiCho)
