Creed singer Scott Stapp says T.I. saved his life after a botched suicide attempt.

As a part of his promotional run for his new memoir, Sinner’s Creed, Stapp explained that he jumped off of Miami’s Delano Hotel balcony after a heavy drug binge, but that Tip helped rescue him after the fall.

“It’s ironic—he walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I’m laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.’s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on,” Stapp told VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live. “I said, ‘Roll Tide’ and then he looked at me and put two and two together and really saved my life.”

Stapp revealed that he had met Tip back in 2004, while they were both penning songs for the The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired By soundtrack and had talked about being fans of Alabama then.

This isn’t the first time that Tip’s presence or him being the voice of reason, helped saved someone’s life.

In 2010, Tip talked and Atlanta man out of jumping off a 22-story building.
