Renowned forensic pathologist, Dr. Michael Baden, has performed a secondary autopsy on the body of Chris Lighty, who was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head last week at his Riverdale townhouse. The city medical examiner ruled Lighty’s death a suicide in their initial findings, but Dr. Baden’s independent autopsy results have yet to be released. Baden was requested at the behest of a family member, a source close to the situation told XXL.

Baden has served as a consultant on several high profile cases, including the trial of O.J. Simpson, the death of John Belushi, and Sex Pistols’ bassist Sid Vicious. He is perhaps best known for his role as chairman of the forensic pathology panel of the House Select Committee on Assasinations, which launched a reinvestigation of the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

In an interview with Fox News 5, Baden told reporter Lisa Evers, ”I’ve seen a number of those kind of situations where initially it was thought a death was a suicide and it turned out to be a homicide. That can happen.”

Evers also spoke with Dave Lighty, brother of the deceased, who, expressed his own desire for an answer to the death: “I’m a little surprised, shocked, and lost at this moment. I want the truth to come out.”

Hundreds packed New York City's Frank. E. Campbell funeral chapel on Wednesday (September 5) to pay their final goodbyes to the late music mogul. 50 Cent, Diddy, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and Russell Simmons were among those in attendance. It's unclear as of press time when the results of the second autopsy will be revealed.
