Drake’s Club Paradise Tour stop in Irvine, California was cut short Tuesday night (May 8) after police stopped his set from continuing.

A representative with the Irvine Police Department confirmed to MTV News that they had to wrap the show up at 11:45 p.m., forcing Drizzy to cut about three songs from his show, despite there being no incidents reported at the event. According to the same rep, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheare is too close in proximity to several residential areas and that’s why police asked Drake to end his show abruptly after he went past his scheduled stop time.

The Young Money star commented about the incident on his Twitter.

“Police made me cut the show short, but I love you all for rocking with me Irvine,” the rapper tweeted out to the masses on Wednesday (May 9).

The spring leg of the Club Paradise Tour kicked off Monday (May 7) and will run through June 17. In addition to the headliner, Drake, the trek also includes J. Cole, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Waka Flocka and Meek Mill.

"I tried to put together a tour that consisted of ... everybody that you hear in your spare time," Drake told MTV News. "These are the guys that are currently on the top of the game, so I tried to bring 'em all out [for] one night. And that's why the tour's called Club Paradise, because I want it to feel like you're gonna hear every song that you wait to hear in the club."—Jakinder Singh
