Kendrick Lamar doesn’t have a date set for his album release next year, but when his LP does drop there’s a great chance it will include production from Just Blaze and Pete Rock.

“Yeah, me and Just got some shit,” Kendrick told XXLMag.com minutes after tearing through his set with songs like “Rigamortis,” “Look Out For Detox” and “Michael Jordan” during the XXL and Hennessy's show at SOBs Monday (December 19) night in New York City. “We got some shit. It’s city-based for sure. It’s classic. It’s history-making shit. It’s Just Blaze, a nigga I been listening to since I was 13 when I started rhyming, listening to Jay and all those Rocafella albums.”

And K. Dot is equally excited about working with Pete Rock.

“I’m looking forward to working with Pete Rock,” Kendrick said. “He just reached out to me. That feels muthafuckin’ great. I got to get back to him, so we can make it work.”

That’s in addition to the already-confirmed Pharrell-produced track that Kendrick Lamar has in the stash.

As for the street date itself, Kendrick  has assured a 2012 release.

“I don’t want to put no date out there because I know as soon as you put the date out there, the pressure is on and people want it,” said Kendrick, an often collaborator of Dr. Dre. “I’m just going to work. Nothing’s perfect, but I want to make it where I’m comfortable with it and officially done me all the way, the only way I know how to.” —Mark Lelinwalla
