Jay-Z Launching Occupy Wall Street-Inspired Shirts

Just a couple of days ago, Jay-Z was photographed wearing a T-shirt that read the words “Occupy All Streets,” inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement. Now, Gawker reports that Jigga Man is going to be dropping the exclusive tees through his Rocawear line starting today (November 11).

A spokeswoman for Rocawear told the newspaper that the T-shirts were being produced in support of the movement, but not financially. “‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street,” the Rocawear spokeswoman said in a statement. “At this time, we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement.”

Meanwhile, Occupy Wall Street protesters continued their march to Washington, D.C. Thursday (November 10), making a stop at Rahwah, N.J., where a family fed them peanut butter-and-jelly and sandwiches, fruit and water. They hope to make it to the nation’s capital on Nov. 23 and plan to persuade lawmakers not to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for the rich.—Gina Montana

first russell whos rushcard has the most ridiculous surcharges of any banking product ever released anywhere ever…and now this..

u people do realize that anybody making $35,000 or more is in the top 1% or the WORLD population right??!?

        • dsjj251@gmail.com

We arent talking about the top 1% of the world, we are talking about the top 1% in the US dumbass.

      • wheel chair jimmy

Sorry if i offended you Mr Jugular, I’m just saying, someone who earns more money than many of these bankers, releasing shirts “for the cause” has an air of hypocrisy about it. And apparently (i did say apparently) there aren’t even going to be any donations, so it’s a rich person making money from something that poor people/not as rich people are passionate about. I am a dumb fuck, but not in this case.

        • dsjj251@gmail.com

actually, you are a dumb fuck, because this movement has nothing to do with how much you make. it has to do with the banks screwing the regular costumers .

so how much Jay Z makes in a year has nothing to do with this.

yes beyonce is beautiful jay or sean is a blessed dude for sure
is he raising awareness or making a fast buck
maybe he is doing both at the same time
is he a republican or a democrat
its funny how kanye used to ghost write for him
and he met the protestors and now jay is weighing in on the issue
i would like to see him donate at least some of the profits of his shirts to the cause
what does occupy wall street stand for anyway
there is a copycat movement in england
they stopped letting tourists into st pauls cathedral
temporarily because they set up a tent city there
and yeah jay z is rich
if he gives away his money good for him
if he didnt call himself jah hova which is akin to calling urself God i might actually buy his albums
i did get that sean carter album with hard knock life but who didnt
and that h to the izzo song which ironically featured dc before he hooked up with beyonce featured on the blueprint
he is an inspiration to aspiring rappers who hope to become moguls record company ceos fashion label owners etc
on the nas tip they used to b enemies dont know how that started but they buried the hatchet
some say he used to b with foxy brown cuz of the o g bonny and clyde cut and some say he was with rihanna
he was a mentor to chris brown and i like his duet with alicia keys new york his cover of forever young was a misstep but he gets creative points for duetting with chris martin
