Lil B Lands Live Nation Deal
According to SF Weekly, the unprecedented deal – which comes while the self-proclaimed BasedGod lacks an actual record deal – includes four shows and two festivals, but could be expanded to a larger tour.
Lil B’s recent highlights include a performance at a Diddy-hosted show at SXSW, an appearance on MTV and of course a spot on XXL’s 2011 Freshman roster.
The 21-year-old Pack member, whose real name is Brandon McCartney, is well-known for his quirky cult following as well as his extensive promotional efforts: He maintains over 100 MySpace pages featuring original music, and his YouTube page currently boasts 246 videos. He also penned and published the book Takin’ Over at age 19.
While the BasedGod has achieved stardom sans the help of a record label, manager Sebastian Demian said that could change in the near future.
“We’re in talks with some labels,” Demian told the SF Weekly. “We’re very much excited about bossing up.”
