Mickey Factz & Cory Gunz Prepping Joint Mixtape

BX stand up! Minutes before Mickey Factz & Cory Gunz appear as guests on our weekly UStream show, Spotlight, XXLMag.com has learned that the 2009 Freshman classmates have decided to do a joint mixtape.

Mickey told XXL that he thought of the idea to do the project just yesterday (October 26) as he watched Gunz perform at a listening session in New York. “I was on Twitter at his listening session and I was just watching him with a band,” he said. ”I was sipping some wine and I was like [on Twitter] ‘Yo what if me and Cory did a tape?’ And the response was retarded. Me and his manager are really, really good friends so we set it up.”

Inspired by the live performance, Factz revealed him and Gunz will use a backing band for all the material on the tape, which he said will be hosted by DJ/producer Clark Kent.

Factz says the tape, which they will start recording next week, should be ready for release in December. The project will be offered for free download.
