Diddy Accused of Ageism in Suit Filed by Former Employee

Diddy is being sued by one of his former employees, who claims she was fired for being too old.

According to the Associated Press, 51 year-old Francesca Spero, who worked for Diddy for more than 12 years filed an age discrimination lawsuit on Wednesday (September 1) in federal court.

Spero says she was terminated in March after confiding in a co-worker that she was treated for a drug dependency relapse, after having hip surgery. Her lawsuit indicates that the disability was the reason for her abrupt dismissal after so many years of service.

“Francesca Spero opened the door for Combs’ career and, now that she’s 51, he showed her the door at Bad Boy,” her attorney, Laurie Berke-Weiss told NBC New York.

A publicist for Combs disagrees saying “there are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them.” —Brooklyne Gipson

Bad Boy has been around longer than 12 yrs, how does this old ass bitch open tha door for Diddy (I dont even like this nigga but my blaccness does not allow me to condone ignorance), she cant rap… she cant produce… I can see if she helped, but open tha door for his career…? dont think so, obviously not, especially when u were working for him, not a partner but an employee… jus sounds like some ungrateful ass woman trying to get over on Diddy cuz she couldnt save tha good money he was paying her (u kno it had to b good) and now she broke… c’mon, who really wants to b working at age 50….? I kno, i wont be workin at age 50, unless I’m Krs-One…. All in all, this case has no weight, if it was for age, she would of already been fired… Definitely, I’m sure Diddy’s lawyer wont lose….

      There’s a lot of age discrimination going on in the job sector right now. A lot of older cats are about to get their homes foreclosed, and lost $ thru the banks or stocks, and can’t find work because of their age.

      I just don’t think this broad has enough goods to merit a lawsuit.

      Either way Bad Boy would be screwed you can’t fire someone because you heard they suffered from a drug dependency either. They only way they could fire her regarding that is if it was affecting her job performance. But if she just came back to work from dealing with that they can’t let her go for that. However, they probably didn’t let her go because of that. They probably let her go because ma is going to be costing them too much in health care cost if they even provide that as a benifit. Companies are grimy out here. WORK For yourself! FUck a job!
