Diddy Accused of Ageism in Suit Filed by Former Employee
Diddy is being sued by one of his former employees, who claims she was fired for being too old.
According to the Associated Press, 51 year-old Francesca Spero, who worked for Diddy for more than 12 years filed an age discrimination lawsuit on Wednesday (September 1) in federal court.
Spero says she was terminated in March after confiding in a co-worker that she was treated for a drug dependency relapse, after having hip surgery. Her lawsuit indicates that the disability was the reason for her abrupt dismissal after so many years of service.
“Francesca Spero opened the door for Combs’ career and, now that she’s 51, he showed her the door at Bad Boy,” her attorney, Laurie Berke-Weiss told NBC New York.
A publicist for Combs disagrees saying “there are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them.” —Brooklyne Gipson
