Update: DMX Speaks on Returning to Jail [With Video]

DMX will be returning to jail today for a 2002 driving infraction, but, surprisingly, the troubled rapper is in good spirits.

Before turning himself in, X went on camera to share his thoughts on the situation. “I’ma turn myself in,” he said. “I decided myself to do that. Me and my crew we came to the conclusion that you know, that would be best…I wanna get that over with, ’cause that’s one of the first steps in regaining everything that I lost.” [Watch below]

“My relationship with God has gotten so much stronger,” he added. “It’s always been a good thing. He’s always had his hand on me… Now that I’m actually listening and being obedient, life is so much better. “

“Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court’s concern,” his lawyer said. “This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.”

As previously reported, X has been ordered to serve 90 days in an L.A. jail. He was just freed from an Arizona prison, after spending four months behind bars for a probation violation earlier this month. —Elan Mancini

Congrats on getting your life together X.

But why does your talking sound like your rapping? (lol)……

To me, and this is just an observation, you sound a little bit like you are still on that pipe. Your movements are erratic and your thought process is not totally coherent (based on this one interview).

I don’t know…. Maybe this is the way you are. I’ll admit that I never heard you speak prior to the pipe, but it seems like you have a long way to go. I wish you good fortune.

I just think X is another victim of having too much, too soon. I don’t think too many ppl are prepared to deal with the pressure of superstardom esp overnight. I hope he steps away from the limelight and finds some peace. I’ll even say the same is true with Foxy. Sometimes going from the streets with a bus pass to the mansion with a yacht is a little hard to adjust to. I can’t lie I don’t think I could handle it… I might have gone the road ODB & Bizzy Bone did by hitting every piece of ass in sight. I don’t know and I really don’t want to know what would be the base of my downfall. The true test to many of these stars is Do you know when to walk away from temptations when you know they are all around you. Hopefully he will fully detox and find a true set friends who will care enough to help him from relapsing again.
