XXL Presents Juicy Magazine, Hitting Stands Tomorrow

Television personality Alani “La La” Vazquez will be appearing on the cover of the premiere issue of Juicy, the newest magazine to come from XXL‘s parent company, Harris Publications.

As previously reported, Juicy holds the distinction of being the first celebrity and lifestyle magazine for African-American women to sit on national newsstands alongside People, US Weekly, In Touch, Life & Style and OK.

In addition to the story on La La, the debut issue includes interviews with Trina, as well as reality TV stars, Tiny, Toya and Brandy.

Bursting at the seams with paparazzi shots of everyone from Zoe Saldana to Fabolous, the magazine will also include hair and beauty tips from stylists and makeup artists to the stars—including Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson and Jennifer Hudson.

Look for Juicy‘s summer issue to be hitting stores tomorrow (May 11), while juicymagonline.com will be launching soon. —Brooklyne Gipson

FINALLY!! I’ve been dying for a hip-hop version of OK! Magazine. Thank God! This will save the print industry all by itself.

Harris is taking it wayyyy back in the days.

With a name like Juicy I was expecting a totally different kind of magazine. You know the kind you read “just for the articles”. Like King or Playb…

WTF? Nas wasn’t bullshitting when he said “Hip Hop is Dead” and this “Juicy” magazine bullshit just proves it.

  • Axeo

Rap on a higher level is the new slogan

Hip-hop is dead. Stick to the early 90′s if you want real hip-hop.

wow man. xxl is dead. has been for a while but this is the final nail in the coffin

  • http://rockcandydiva.wordpress.com Jaz

I thought this was gonna be a hip hop mag for women. Not that women and men should be segregated in hip hop I’m just saying. If you’re going to do a mag for women does it have to be crack in print form. Nothing to EXERCISE the brain? So these feminist agenda magazines are still my only option for smart topics geared towards women??? Dang :\

  • http://rockcandydiva.wordpress.com Jaz

I would have been more impressed if Juicy had been a magazine that you read just for the articles. Then XXL couldve gotten rid of that God awful Eye Candy column.

  • mrs.jonez’s

this shit is tha same as US weekly but its just black ppl..

Yo i could see JUICY being an successful mag with the ladies, they appreciate gossip. I think thats cool and all but there are alot more areas XXL can exceed in, but i’ll need a check when it comes to that. Of course this Mag will be successful because the “Masses” LOVE GOSSIP. Now that there’s a black version of People magazine out black celebs and atheles will have no privacy. SMH I would never wanna be famous because of bullshit like this.

And SMH @ this first cover story. It may seem like LaLa is happy cause she’s with a ball player but who knows what she go through behind closed doors.
