XXL’s May cover co-star, Drake, has been busy headlining his Away From Home tour for nearly a month, and on Monday (April 26), the Toronto-bred MC made a notable stop at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Why, because the Young Money rapper revealed that he would be submitting the final copy of his highly-anticipated debut album Thank Me Later later that night. He claimed that the show would go down in history; not only because it was his first time in Kansas City, but because that would be the city where the final cut of his LP would be turned in.

As he continued to talk about TML, Drake informed the wailing fans that the first song they’ll hear when they pop in the album on June 15, will be “Fireworks." Giving the crowd a preview of the track, he said he usually doesn’t perform anything more than the first verse and chorus, but in celebration of such an epic night, he continued to rap the next verse acapella.
