Hell Rell Denies Suing Jim Jones, Says Previous Reports False

Back in September, Allhiphop reported that Hell Rell had filed a lawsuit against Jim Jones, E1 (formerly Koch), Babygrande Records and Tycoon Entertainment for unpaid royalties. The Bronx rapper had signed with Koch/E1 in 2007 and released his debut disc, Hell Up in Harlem, while his 2008 sophomore disc, Black Mask, Black Gloves, was released via Babygrande, but according to the report Rell had not been paid in full.

XXLMag.com recently caught up with Rell, who confirmed there was a lawsuit pending but clarified that the Diplomats Capo was not part of the case.

“This shit be killing me,” he said. “I go on the Internet and everybody saying I’m suing Jim Jones. That was a false report on the media’s behalf. Yes, I do have a lawsuit pending with Koch... but, no, I’m not suing Jim. At the end of the day we might all have our differences, we might not speak to each other on an every day basis for certain reasons, but, no, I ain’t suing nobody.”

In an effort to counteract the false reports, Rell called Jones directly to clear the air. “I reached out to him and told him what it was and it was cool,” he said. “He wasn’t trippin’. He was kinda mad [though] ’cause he ain’t hear from me [right away] and he thought like, ‘What’s going on with the situation?’ But nah, that shit is dead; the media be hyping shit up too much.”

As for the status the case against Koch/E1 and the amount of money owed, Rell said, “I can’t speak on it, but if I do win I’ll pick you up in the new Ferrari after the case is over.”
