Eminem Moves 211K, Red & Meth Top Busta In Second Week On The Charts

Eminem continues his reign on the Billboard 200 sales chart in his second week with releases by Redman & Method Man and Busta Rhymes sliding down the ranks.

Relapse, Em’s first new solo disc since ‘05’s Encore, followed up its first week 608,200 in sales, with 211,000 according to the Nielsen SoundScan. So far 820,400 fans have picked up the Dr. Dre-produced project in two weeks.

Falling 11 spots this week is Red & Meth’s Blackout! 2 album which now sits at no. 18. The East Coast duo’s reunion disc sold an additional 20,500 copies this go-around, making their second week total stand at 78,100.

Busta slid down to the no. 22 spot in his second week, four spots below Red & Meth. His Universal/Motown release, Back On My B.S. moved 16,700 units this week, pushing his total sales figures 76,000.

Rounding out the top 40 is Miami boss Rick Ross. The Def Jam MC sold 13,600 Deeper Than Rap CDs this sales cycle, making his album break the 300k mark. After six weeks Deeper Than Rap has a grand total of 303,800.

Next week look for Eminem to continue his dominance as new releases from D-Block and AZ are set to debut. – Elan Mancini

  • Pierzy

Rick Ross = 303,800 in six weeks total.

    Em = 211,000 in 2nd week alone [820,000 total].

    Not hating…just saying.

    • Worley

      @Pierzy

The (white) people buying Em’s album relate to their own a lot better. Hell, Elvis was outselling black acts all the time. Even in the minstrel era, white men in black face were more successful than black men with black faces. This is nothing new.

      • Pierzy

Really? You think his popularity is only based on white people?

Or what about the other highest selling rapper of all time, 2Pac? He was black, so did whites support him?

        • ThA MiKe

Pierzy, just for the record. Pac sold the majority of his albums after he died. Me against the world was his first #1 album and has only sold 2 million copies since its release. His greatest hits album, which was released in 98, has sold 9 million. White people are buying Em’s albums and yes whites did support pac after he died. But that still doesnt take away from skill. Eminem is and always has been a better rapper that Officer Ricky…that nigga is cornier than Asher Roth.

        • Avenger XL

Of course white people su[pported Pac and Black folks are supporting Em. The thing both them and Elvis have in common they are brand name celebrities now. You no longer have to be a rap fan per say to know about them. I do believe Em and Elvis sell better due to their ethnic background however and the fact their group tends to have more disposable income in the first place heck unemployment in the black community is double digits these days.

        • Worley

I ain’t one for too much of the internet back and forth so this will be my last response to this post. Say what you will afterwards.

Of course whites and blacks supported Pac. But remember, Pac did not have mainstream support when his raps were positive. Once he got with Suge Knight and became a misguided revolutionary then all of a sudden the mainstream – white consumers – embraced him.

More importantly, I am certain if a white rapper who could have been taken seriously – or even put together a decent imitation – came out and did the same misguided revolutionary thing that white rapper would have probably outsold Pac.

Nas gets at all of this, especially the questionable tastes of the white rap consumer, on “Testify.” Again, this is nothing new.

        • OG Matt Herbz

Why the fuck does it have to be a race issue? Muthafuckas that like Eminem and have money for the damn CD will go and cop that shit. Don’t pull the race card if you’re comparing Eminem to Rick Ross’ sorry fat ass’ sales numbers.

Implying that white people only fucked with 2Pac because he was a misguided black man is just bonk. Really, that’s just some whiny bitch shit invented by some wack Professor of African American Studies at some abject community college that was convinced that master/slave relations have everything to do with Hip Hop sales metrics.

          Fuck outta here.

          –OG Matt Herbz–

        • DETROIT

alot of the things being said about race are true….but let’s not forget, RICK ROSS WAS THE ONE WHO COMPARED HIMSELF TO EM…NOT US! so, due to the fact that ross tried to get at em, it’s fair to compare their #s. also, i’d be willing to bet that more black people bought em than ross! ROSS SAID “I’m the biggest artist in the game”, obviously that was just another lie!

        • Mid_Missourian

Worley said “Of course whites and blacks supported Pac. But remember, Pac did not have mainstream support when his raps were positive. Once he got with Suge Knight and became a misguided revolutionary then all of a sudden the mainstream – white consumers – embraced him.

Damm…how true that is. From Pac’s “revolutionary rap days” the only thing I remember is “Brenda’s Got A Baby” and “I Get Around”, but from the “misguided revolutionary” days I have a bevy of songs’ to choose from.
          Just my opinion.
But if you guys want to check out some blogs that provide bs theories about rap and its effect on black youths’…check out The Columbia Daily Tribune (Columbia,Mo-my hometown). Leave a comment or two.

        • whyton

Shout out to the dude from Columbia, MO. I go to school up there.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s fair to say Em sold more because he’s white. At this point in his career everyone knows who Em is worldwide so that “white rapper” label doesn’t carry that mystique with it anymore (not for him anyway). You could make the case that that’s why his second album sold what it did (and because it’s a great album). Also, with the record industry the way it is today, only true fans are buying albums. So because Em sold more records than any other rapper this year, that doesn’t mean it’s a “white movement.” It just means he’s a great rapper who put out a solid product. The benefit he gets from his skin color might have had something to do with it, but like I said, those people could’ve downloaded the album if they didn’t want it (which is probably what they did for Ross).

And like that one person said, more black people probably bought Em’s album than they did Ross’s album.

I haven’t heard Cam’ron’s, Ross’s, Red & Meth’s or Busta’s albums, but I highly doubt any of them is better than Relapse. If they wanted to put up Eminem/Wayne numbers, they should’ve made the product good enough to justify those sales like Eminem and Wayne did.

        • http://www.myspace.com/htownsoundinc The REAL DooK

          Actually, Brendas got a baby..
So many tears, can u get away. come on now.. dont just nitpick..

Secondly, other races might have more disposible income than the others but really the main reason Wayne, Em, 50 and Ross got sales from the middle class is because suburban kids who have no street/hood/ghetto…. or whatever you call it…. use rap as an escape to the reality of their worlds… creates a COOLNESS to go back to school and show all the kids u got the new KINPIN OF RAP/COKE RICK ROSS album.. then you analyze the lyrics and come back the next day with a concocted story about this lifestyle you fabricate so much.. So for that alone, you’ll gather a couple hunned thousand..

Mos Def n Talib has yet to reach mainstream status with their conscious music, yet Wayne and Ross can lie their way into top 100.. Which further proves that Hiphop is and always be about the mystery, which we’ve seemed to lose now that computer based recording software and accessories are at an all time low.. So everyone is a Dboy now.

TO ALL THE YOUTH WHO ASPIRE TO BE IN THE HIPHOP INDUSTRY PLEASE REALIZE THAT THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY WAYS YOU CAN SELL DOPE.. HAND TO HAND, IN THE “TRAP”, ON THE BLOCC OR WHATEVER…

        • opak

you think maybe thats because once he hooked up with death row he started rapping on dre beats?

i dont think it was the lyrical content change that started to sell records it was the beats

      • truth

        @ Worley
yo thanks for ur insight homie… men, I didn’t c what u saw all this time! It sucks not bein enlightened like ur ass… by the way how u gonna explain Asher Roth?? is he black smwhere that white ppl aint supportin his album??

  • smooth

    Pierzy!

  • nabz

yet, rick ross still seems to talk so much shit and think hes better then everybody.

    but the numbers don’t lie

  • Federal Ranga

What up, P? Can’t front, I am still a little upset by this… fans are being really fickle and on the fence about this… I am one to talk… I still have not heard the album… Yall look out for $yk to post up Yawka’s newest attack today in the bangers. Lets Go!

    • $ykotic

      Commission!

Are we sure about Red & Meth this week?

I’m gonna say this again. Blame Def Jam for Ross’ position.

The race card is worn and old.

XXL is blocking the NY631 post. Been trying on the Print banger(which it isn’t one).

      We got all day…

  • Mikey F Baby

      • The Known Unknown

Jadakiss has the best album of the year so far this em thing is just a stunt, he’s alright but he’s not real. Regardless of commercial sucess I haven’t heard anyone bumpin em’s album sooooo who bought it?????, lol, shit mix tape dudes are getting way more status you can’t come down south talkin bout no em, when Gucci is killing the radio stations, and T.I. is the most succesful rapper this decade regardless of numbers which his are very good. Just look what he did, and all by himself(DJ DRAMA), Grand Hustle is the next ROC’ em is paid but not respected like that, he’s a good em-c but not the best or nothing lol, Yall base eveything on sales, but it doesn’t always tell the whole story, he should sell a milli or so, Wayne did, and yall say em is the best, he can’t stack up like he used to against the new rap game it’s more complex, but I guess money talks not that the bloggers are getting any HA!

  • chillin mayne

on the really tho, who the hell wants to hear rick ross talk bout wat kinda dishes he digests, and how much money he spend on fabrics with sum of the weakest lyrics ever heard to man??..meth and red should sold more, dat busta rhymes wasnt all dat…dat eminem wasnt all dat either, but it sure wasnt wack like rick ross

  • http://www.myspace.com/emcdlthemusicprofile EmCDL

Good look on Em glad he continue to sell. I heard most of the album already but still haven’t bought it nor the Blackout 2 and the new Busta joint but I’m gonna get them next week for sure. Can’t wait for that D-Block and AZ! Wooooooo!

  • cold

why all the rick ross hate , he had a dope album ! that red and meth can’t fuck with it .
busta and eminem either ! listen to the albums and stop bitchin ‘ like little pussies !

    • El Tico Loco

Oh damn school out and now kids are postin. Look yung un don’t let the hot beats fool ya Rick Ross is very unoriginal, take your own advice and listen to the albums, I smoke weed so I can relate to red and mef, I don’t have a Maybach with crabmeats in the minifridge so I can’t relate to Rawse, damn near everybody is in Busta’s album so is not really his album so scratch that, and Eminem is just disturbing to me this time. Copped them all but red and mef is on rotation heavy in the whip especially since I copped the 10 yr anniversry edition.

      • cold

el taco.you smoke weed so you can relate ?!
i understand the fact that you’re broke
and need a good laugh from red and meth , but rick ross had the best album !

        • untouchpuertorocNYC

COLD!!!Hahahahahaha!! You are still riding officer pig rossifer squiddly bozack! I told you before he was a flop! Do you admit now that fifty hurt your lovers sales?!LOL

        • El Tico Loco

          @ Cold

Like u livin the shit Ross talk about. Negro Please! Not even Rawse himself living that shit (leases and rentals all smoke and mirrors), plus how you gonna be sober and have bad taste? nigga is deeper than beats, there’s gonna be plenty of mixtapes where muthafuckas 10x nicer than Rawse that will murk the DTR instrumentals, believe dat; and you can do is call me broke? From what I’ve seen most of Rawse fans are broke.

        • Johny

meth n reds album was dope bt for rawse the album was aite bt it would have been beta if it was someelse spittin them 16′s cos i dont believe that guy he’s a shady guy jst like Em

        • I’m Me

Man fuck that fat lucky ass rapper that stole the real ricky ross’s name. Now he gettin’ exposed by websites and the drama king(sorry Kay Slay) 50 cent. Oops, my bad, I left out his baby’s moms. She tryin 2 expose this clown 2.

  • http://1290wmcs.com “The Party Killa”

DAMN we look at #’s 2much!!

  • Nate

If you say that Rick Ross had a dope album and Red, Meth, Em and Busta can’t F with him, then it’s you that needs to go into rehab because you are on something.

Sometimes Rick Ross is granted a “better beat”, but he doesn’t know what to do with it. It’s like the guy who gets a bomb girl and can’t handle her.

All the others can do more with a lesser girl (beat).

    • cold

the beat is important dumb ass ! you act like red and meth was actually spittin’ dope 16′s on that shit ! ross had a better album . and as for the girl statement , i would rather but quick in a dime than last all night with a dog .

      • Phil

Put down the pill bottle, little one. Your mother’s on the way.

        • cold

o.k. good looking out homie ! i don’t want her catch me face fucking your dear old mother

  • Coolh

I think the Dr. Dre stamp still holds alot of
punch in the eyes of both the fans, and the
industry side of rap music. I dont think color
is the biggest pull when it comes to sells, But
I know for a fact label resources do…..

  • General

I don’t know why we are talking about who sold more Em or Ross or Red and Meth or Busta, the bottom line is was the CD any good. When I listen to a Cd it doesn’t sound and different from one week to the next based on sales…It is either hot or its garbage or somewhere in between and the numbers don’t mean shit we have known that for years…Hell using that argument Britney Spears and all the pop acts must have the hottest fucking Cd’s of all time cuz they sold like crazy…

In my opinion, Em, Ross, and Red and Meth had hot albums, Busta’s on the other hand was a disappointment

  • Pierzy

Your argument has alot of flaws. For example if you want to play a numbers game Lil Wayne, MC Hammer, and Vanila Ice are all better than Eminem. Now you have 24 minutes to come up with a better argument.

  • ff1one@yahoo.com

Hell Ya his sales are based on being white. He sold atleast 200,000 on that factor alone. Em does have skills, but he can basically put out a blank cd at this point and will sell atleast 300,000 in a week. Rick Ross album as it relates to music is still better. Em’s album is a great gimick album its personal in ways, but its not really hip hop. He’s rapping but the subject matter is and has been weak for some time. Reverse skin tone, and have a black man with equal talent talking about those subjects. It wouldn’t sell. Em can pretty much say anything and this should not be the reprensentation of hip hop. It takes hip hop back a few years. You have classic albums and veterans putting out more relevant material, and the same fans who bought em ablum don’t look at it. You can’t tell me its talent alone. the first bars of red and meth album are pretty much hotter then ems entire joint. Nas untiled is just as creative and personal. Get real. The same fans that say money doesn’t equal sucess will hate on Soulja boi for saying money equals sucess.

    • Moi

lil wayne was the biggest selling artist period last year. his content is arguably about as substantive as eminem’s, their talent is arguably equal. so who bought his album? why did it sell millions of copies? also, nas has never had crossover appeal. his fan base is hip-hop fans. same with many artists who never made the move to go pop, or have club songs (like jay-z) so you can’t expect big numbers. also, i saw red and meth’s concert earlier this year and there were at least if not more white people there than black/latino. em sells because he is a name brand. how he got that way is a discussion, yes.

  • Federal Ranga

Maybe I am wrong, but the last time I checked, I could have swore that Eminem was the highest selling rapper of all time. Hasn’t he sold 65 million records worldwide or was that wrong?

    • RiZob

WHAT THE FUCK does that have to do with anything?! Larry Bird is considered one of the best basketball players of all time, even though it was no-name players on the bench of every team that were leaps and bounds better than him…Why is this you ask? its because he’s white…Freaking Tyler Hansborough was considered the best college b’ball player even though everybody knows he is str8 ass cheeks….Why is this you ask?….its b/c he’s white….Eminem gets a pass for sub-par bullshit because…you guessed it, he’s WHITE..if a black artist put out the same exact albums, they wouldnt have sold as much…Em even said it himself on “White America”…no hate…it just real talk….

      • DETROIT

again, i agree with alot of the things being said about race as it relates to success…but this shit right herrre:

“Larry Bird is considered one of the best basketball players of all time, even though it was no-name players on the bench of every team that were leaps and bounds better than him”

NIGGA PLEASE! BIRD averaged 21 pts, 10.5 boards, 4.5 assists, 1.7 steals, shot 90% from the line and 40% from 3 IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR! THAT NIGGA IS A BEAST, LOOK HIM UP!

        LARRY BIRD >>>>>>> KOBE BRYANT!

        RESPECT THE GAME!

        • cold

? nigga is you crazy !? since you’re looking up numbers look up kobe’s

        • render

nigga, kobe is top 15…maybe top 12

          bird is top 6

stop listening to nike marketing. Kobe at his best is nothing but a half rate Jordan

        • I’m Me

Man look…Kobe is more of a pure shooter than Jordan was. And while people hate on Kobe, the boy is doing his thing with less talent than Jordan had when the bulls won rings. And if he get another ring, it’s gonna be a monster in the NBA.

  • k.ing

    rick ross = fraud…

be real if he was on any other label he would have don fat joe numbers…

and this ain’t a 5 vs ross or em vs ross… he not being felt out west and out east…

maybe the south fuck with him… but gucci, and oj have bigger buzz so what does that tell you…

lyrically he ain’t even fucking with bun, luda, cham, mjg… shit i rather hear juicy j on the track…

good beats but dude whole character is wack from the way he talks to the bitch ass moves that he makes… nigga should have got at 50 at the awards lose or win that publicity would have been much better…

he exposed hisself as a weak lyricist… can’t battle worth shit… and CCC is garbage too…

on another note is that red and meth really hot???

    • $ykotic

It may just be my opinion, but yes Blackout!2 is fire.

      • Pierzy

        Co-Sign $yk!!

    • El Tico Loco

If you cop get the 10 yr anniversary edition that comes with both Blackouts.

  • kingequality

why yall still speaking about rick ross still selling 10k after 6 weeks aint bad at all and em is on one of the riches rock lables he selling so much cause he’s getting acceptance all around we hate on all of our good artist urban radio aint even playing none of that pill popping rap so you know who’s supporting him personally I think the cd is kinda corney def not his best work im sorry thats just not what I wanna listen to i cant relate to trailer trash rap skills or not you’ll bump it for a couple of weeks but after that its going on the shelf

  • Azhar

I’ll say it again Em got the sales bcuz of his status and he has earned it with a good track record and a good cd (relapse)….but Red & Mef released a overall better cd (blackout 2)to me, but they’re not gonna outsell EM… and at the end of the day who cares aint nobody movin major units anymore…. that era is far gone!

    • $ykotic

Your getting ready for the convo next week when AZ’s numbers come out…

      • twoholla

        @ $ykotic

i co-sign to that AZ statment, but at the same time…that dude has been on CRUISE CONTROL his last 2 or 3 albums…he sounds goods…he tends to select decent beats but something is MISSING???

oh yeah on the eminem thing…yeah we all know that eminem wouldn’t have sold sooooo many records if he was a non-white, but at the same time…the dude has TALENT…AMERICA & the world has always been prejudiced in that way…i think we have COLONIALIZATION to thank for that…WHO KNOWS MAYBE THE NEXT MEGA-LEGEND RAP STAR WILL BE THE BEST OF BEST WORLDS…A MIXED MULATTO…LOOK AT WHO THE CURRRENT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS???

but at the same time I say SO WHAT..mr. eminem & the world isn’t going to stop brothers (of all colors) from doing what they do best…they create an artistic revolution (Rock N Roll, Blues, Jazz, Jungle (now called Drum N Bass) in the U.K., etc. then we get bored with it…we become disinterested & move on from it…off once again on a search to make the intangible a physical & expressive reality…hell 40-50 years from now, the brothers will create yet another artistic revolution that the critics will demoralize at first…and yes of course..it will be a white boy (elvis, eric clapton, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Eminem) that will get most of the fame & glory…but ‘SO WHAT’…that’s still no excuse for brothers nowadays who spit lame redundant bars song after song album after album…real talk

  • Azhar

    @ Federal Ranga, sup playboy

actually Pac is in the Guiness Book as #1 rapper with over 75 million cds sold worldwide, but Em has sold close to 70 million not including relapse

  • HEY FAGGOTS…

Y THE FUCK R U WASTING TIME TALKING ABOUT SALES?
THIS IS MUSIC… IF ITS DOPE ITS DOPE SHUT THE FUCK UP IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GO LISTEN TO C3.

  • Marcos

I used to love Eminem when he I was in middle school, but I just can’t relate to his content anymore. I don’t think his style would work as a black artist. People would think he was a joke. His material is mostly joke songs. We get it, you and your mom have a bad relationship. Then he raps about getting molested by his step dad… being addicted to prescription pills? His fan base is realistically 70% white, and 1/2 of them are the N SYNC, Limp Bizkit crowd. Also, white people always support a white person doing a black dominated medium. Whether its sports or music. Look at Ricky Hatton, hes garbage and hes adored.

    • El Tico Loco

If Em was black he’d be Tech N9n9.

  • $ykotic

    Where are Jada’s numbers?

  • KidCashier

I HATE IGNORANT FUCKS… SO HERES SOME NUMBERS SO YALL WILL SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT THIS RACE SHIT!!! ALL NUMBERS ARE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR!!

    Lil Wayne: CarterIII– 1.3 million
    Nas: Untitled– 186,000
Ludacris: Theatre of the Mind– 213,000
    T.I.: Paper Trail– 568,000
    Game: LAX– 238,000
Kanye West: 808′s and Heartbreak– 450,000
Rick Ross: Deeper Than Rap– 158,000
    Eminem: Relapse– 608,000
Paul Wall: Fast Life– about 20,000

    These are FIRST WEEK SALES!!!

Race has little to do with album sales!
Quality of music has little to do as well!
ITS WHOEVER IS MOST POPULAR AT THE TIME OF RELEASE AND WHOSE IN THE MEDIA THE MOST!!

    TIP,WAYNE,KANYE,EMINEM….

DO U MUTHA FUCKAS GET IT YET!!???

  • Akatok1

Really, let’s get this straight right now. There is no race factor when it comes to selling records. Let’s just face it… Relapse is a pretty good ass cd. So stop using that race bullshit…..that’s so old….who the fuck cares! Eminem always been great rapper…and at least he’s proving to ya with the numbers. Now for Meth & Red…..I’ll always be a fan to them no matter what, but they released their cd at the wrong time….just like the other New York rappers that came out. I’m sorry to be blunt about this, but nobody is really playing New York shit on the radio like they used to. Its all about club-ready/trap/too many rapper love females songs on the radio. If you want the real music to come back…then let’s bring it back. Go back out there and support your artists. Buy their cd……yeah i know everybody downloads and shit, but come on now….they gotta eat too. Rick Ross, im sorry but he did come through with this cd, but he bit more than what he can chew. that’s why the cd hasn’t made gold yet. How the economy is now…..I rather go gold or platinum…..then double or triple…..which is really impossible unless you got those good ass records that people can relate to and they become hits…Let’s just face it….we (consumers) have to bring hip hop to where it used to be. Now more solija boy…laffy taffy….shit.

  • X

Herbz is completely right. Why does race matter so much to some dumb asses? Like he said, people who have the money for it and like it will buy it. Simple as that, end of discussion. For people who want to get past racism, they sure do a good job invoking it.

Sales shouldn’t get posted until a significant amount is reached. Today’s music consumers actually wait for 1st week sales post to determine if an album is worth buying. When in fact they like the artist in the first place, like the single(s) in the second, or like the video(s)in the third. I blame everything post-BIG/Pac especially 50 Cent cause that’s when it was made to seem important and the actual music wasn’t.

I expected relapse to sell alot less than previous albums
    1) being leaked 2 weeks early
    2) lack of a mega-single

Relapse is wayyy better than Encore and sells less in it’s first two weeks?
This proves specific sales alone can’t be used to judge how good a RAP ALBUM is
    Relapse2=album of the year!

Don’t Start With That “Eminem Sold More Cuz He’s White” Bullshit, Check Asher Roth’s Numbers, And He Aimed For A College Frat Audience. You Wanna Know Why Relapse Is Selling Good: Skills

  • 6Cubed

Em sold becuz he’s a mainstream rapper. Rick Ross isn’t a household name. It’s not about black and white. Shit Lil’ Wayne sold a shit load becuz admit it or not he’s mainstream now and he’s black. The fool sold a million in less then 3 days. So the black/white shit is bogus. Everybody all hyped about Em’s #’s and 850K is kinda slow for him. I remember he used to do 850 or platinum the first 3 days. Comparing the numbers ain’t really shit cuz it’s the money you make after that what matters which in some case ain’t SHIT!!

  • Azhar

Ummm! AZ cd dropped yesterday…and its dat true AZ Sosa shit! Bestbuy got it!

  • Fireforreal

True it’s not about black and white it is a mainstream thing. But Em himself said wouldn’t have sold half of what he has sold if he was black. He does have skills and because he’s in the public eye more than most rappers will ever be but for anyone to think it’s based on skills alone is taking the pills he stopped taking because he isn’t the only rapper with skills.

  • FLYYCITIMOST

dat album is whack dont buy it real sh^t

  • David

whys it always gotta be bout white or black get over it. Wayne pushed albums, fifties pushed albums, nellys pushed album, em’s pushed album, and Jay’s push em. WHat does him being whit have anything to do with it??

  • gafinest706

i don’t think race has anything to do with ems sales i just think people fall victim to the hype now a days our youth is way more impressionable and are brought up to be sheep and not leaders there for they buy anything that is “popular” and not what is good…its a simple quantity over quality equation that’s why solja boy sells some many copies of non sense and dead prez cant catch a break when they consistently put out meaning full music and not just message less junk as most “artist” do these days…major labels dont sign people to make music any more they sign them for songs and ring tones which is a sad fact and the eventual down fall of the genre

  • ChangetheGame

Now we’ve heard it all. White people telling us not to play the race card…take your ass back to listening to Rush Limbaugh. The simple fact that you can’t digest what some have spoken about shows either your age or lack of intelligence. YOU can all say what you want but Marshall knows he’s not that great. Em’s lyrical content is all fantasy bullsh!t! You people sit around and enjoy his music while he talks about getting raped, I hate my mommy and my wife…that’s the stuff we see white folks doing at the store. Real black folks know exactly what I’m talking about. The same people that put their kids on dog leashes! LOL! Thats Em’s fan base. They get on here blogging telling us who the greatest rapper ever is and why we don’t know what we are talking about.

Em can’t be the G.O.A.T. with his little I can’t be gangster so I’ll just be CRAZY and a real lunatic…better yet Jason Vorhee or Michael Meyers!

Yes…Em does numbers but HE KNOWS he does not have respect from the people he wants it most!
He can sell lil Johnny his last sh!t stained toilet paper and they’ll buy it. BUT WE WON’T!

THATS WHAT THEY CALL DOING “SHADY NUMBERS”

IM HAPPY FOR HIP HOP THATS THE BOTTOM LINE.
I THINK PEOPLE WANT TO SEE EM FAIL, IF HE DID NO NUMBERS IT WOULD GIVE THE HATORS SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT, THIS MOTHER FUCKER COULD BE BLACK AND I WOULD STILL BE HAPPY FOR THE MAN IN THE NAME OF RAP MUSIC, HATORS LIKE M.C SEARCH AND OTHERS ARE MAD BECAUSE THEY CANT DO THOSE KIND OF NUMBERS, THEY WISH THEY COULD BUT THEY CANT. NOT ALL OF HIS SONGS WERE GOOD ON THE C.D BUT THE ONES THAT ARE, ARE HOT. LYRICAL AND FLOW WISE.

FLORIDA COULDNT DO THOSE NUMBERS AND HES GOT SOUL,
RICKY ROSS COULDNT DO THOSE NUMBERS AND HES GOT SOUL,
SOULJA BOY COULDNT DO THOSE NUMBERS
BOW WOW CANT DO THOSE NUMBERS
YOUNG JEEZZY CANT DO THOSE NUMBERS

I ain’t buying Em’s album and neither Ross I don’t buy white people’s music I just don’t espcially not Marshall Mathers III albums I did buy a bootleg a long time ago that’s about it and Karma is a bitch he deserved that isht This Past Sunday night!

    • tdrb42

“he deserved that isht This Past Sunday night”

Eminem was part of planning that whole thing. It was a joke to promote that movie. Em wasn’t really mad, he was faking it. RapRadar got the exclusive.

  • P

its funny when people talk about white people only buy ems ablum because if anything white people are the biggest purchasers of rap music in general…damn you lames are fuckin stupid….what does it matter if white people or black people by the album??? at the end of tha day its being bought b/c someone likes the music, people dont goto stores and say “hey a white rapper i never heard before, i think im gonna buy tha album”………You dumb fucks need to stop generalizing races, because not all blacks are poor from the hood and not all whites a rich from the suburbs…..DONT DO DRUGS

  • P

lil A your a fag for that remark. Your probably the biggest uncle tom on earth

    • Lil A

I’m black fag boy that’s my opinion it’s America u can say wtf you want pussy.

  • P

Wow, did every comment come from a 10 year old in here??? Yea Ems sales came from hype…..NO, they came from his fanbase, second in his case quantity was based on quality, aint no one else put out music with the rhyme schemes and creativity that he did. Its a joke that people downplay his skill b/c they think he sold just b/c hes white and its sad that people would rather listen to frauds/fags who rap about pushin coke and whips and bling when we’re in a recession. Any Real Emcee in the game got em in there top 5, it is what it is

    • The Known Unknown

He might be creative but the are numurous creative artist that will never blow, he doesn’t have more style than DRE 3000 nor can he get with him on a mic, he doesn’t tell better stories than NAS, he hasn’t influenced the game like JAY, he never and never will have the charisma like BIG, and him and his whole camp want to be like PAC, please top 5 in rap Yeah Right based on what him rappin bout killing his baby moms, talkin bout mariah and nick shit is garbage hmmmmmm if thats creative then HIP HOP IS DEAD, let’s be real most rappers come out talking like em, they wouldn’t make it in the game, the audience is Biased on who they wnat to hear say what, I don’t knock sucess but I can see through bullshit like I said he’s alright but he’s not real just another celebrity weirdo

  • tru predator

relapse is hot.i didnt think alot of it till i really got to listen to it a few times.the cd is growin on me.there are some tight ass songs on there.yeah he must have lost his damn mind writin some of the shit he did but after you listen to it youll see what i mean.it grows on you,the song beautiful alone sells the cd for me.(which reminds me alot of stan)i would have bought it just for that song alone had the rest of it been garbage, but thats not the case.wide awake, beautiful, old times sake, deja vu, and 3am are just some of the hottest shit hes done in years.

  • tru predator

oh and to who ever keeps bringin up the race card bullshit.get a life and learn to admit its talent that is why he sells records.no not everyone that sells alot has talent, but its true in this case.people will go buy a cd if the its worth it.i know plenty of people who down loaded it illegaly, but still went out and bought the cd,because they believe in supporting the artist becuase it isnt bullshit.it was good and worth buying.

  • chad cline

I am so sick of people pulling the race card on eminem! i am so sick of people making excuses for others less success than him. when lil wayne sold a million in a week did anyone say its cause he was black? get the fuck outta here

  • chad cline

I am so sick of people pulling the race card on eminem! i am so sick of people making excuses for others less success than him. when lil wayne sold a million in a week did anyone say its cause he was black? get the fuck outta here , eminem is the best rapper out and people just cant handle that a white boy is way more talented and way more skilled in rap and in the race to be the best ever . half the people that say em sucks are the ones that never bought an album or listened to all of his music, and have no clue. 2pac was great , but he had his time and now eminem is having his! cant believe nobody wants give him his respect cause he is white. its bullshit.

  • ericv

Eminem is one of the few talented rappers/storytellers out there. He is smart and knows the business. He is gonna have his funny/bullshit songs for mainstream radio and then theres the rest of the album. He doesn’t sell a lot just because he’s white. Take a look at asher roth’s numbers…..or paul wall or bubba sparks…..theres a couple to choose from.

if em was black he would be just as successful. if you listen to rhymin styles they are similar to biggie’s, just cause eminem dont rap about having money and shit dont mean that his success is just because hes white. he is one of the most skilled if not the most skilled rapper in the game
