Diddy To Star In New Comedy


Hip-Hop renaissance man Sean “Diddy” Combs will be expanding his resume once again, as he has recently signed on to star in a new comedy.

During an interview with late night talk show host Craig Ferguson the rapper turned actor revealed the news. “I just signed on to do a comedy as a matter of fact,” he said. “I can’t announce who it’s with, but it’s with some definitely comedy heavy hitters.” [Watch Below]

This will be the first real comedic role for Puff, who received critical acclaim for his role in A Raisin In The Sun. “There’s such a joy in making people laugh,” he shared. “I look forward to it.”

Diddy told Ferguson that he is serious about his acting aspirations. “Right now that’s what I’m pursuing; I’m strongly pursuing my acting career,”he shared.

The rap mogul is up for an NAACP Image Award for his spot in A Raisin In The Sun. Honors will be handed out tonight at 8 p.m. live on Fox. For a full list of nominees peep the NAACP Image Awards’ website. – Elan Mancini

    His performance in “A Raisin in the Sun” was on point though. He’s obviously no Sidney Poitier, but I was completely surprised at how good he was.

    Yeah, me too. Until the time came for him to get emotional – like when he found out dude took the money. That’s where you see the difference.

    I doubt he’ll be top billing in the film. Why is it rappers in particular love to say they are doing a film with an established acting heavyweight as if they are co-starring in these films when in most cases they are just doing a glorified cameo.
