Kanye West posted a J Dilla track on his blog today for a song he crafted for the late Detroit rapper/producer in 2001. ‘Ye claims he hadn’t heard the track until recently. The song, “Pay Jay,” uses the same Doors sample from Jay-Z’s “Takeover.” West said he made the beat right after “Takeover” and makes a note about some sample clearing issues he was having at the time.
