remy12.jpgAs previously reported on XXLMag.com, New York City prosecutors are accusing Remy Ma of witness intimidation after the Bronx rapper and a group of associates allegedly assaulted the boyfriend of a potential witness in her shooting case. The incident allegedly took place at the Players Club in the Bronx on August 19 when, Sydney Holmes — a close friend of Makeda Barnes-Joseph, who Remy allegedly shot in the abdomen in July — was taken to the hospital for a week after suffering a fractured face from an alleged beat-down by Remy’s crew. In an interview with the New York Daily News, Holmes speaks for the first time since the incident. “I have nothing against Remy, but I just want justice to be done,” he said. “How can they break my jaw and still be walking the streets?” According to Holmes, the brawl took place after an alleged stare down with Remy’s boyfriend at the Players Club. “I was fighting seven dudes by myself,” Holmes said. “I was just defending myself. Now my jaw is broken in two places and I have a plate in my chin for the rest of my life.” Since the alleged fight, Edison Alaban, a spokesman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office told TMZ.com that Remy is now facing additional charges of gang assault, tampering with a witness, intimidating a victim and third-degree assault. Remy is due back in court next Thursday, September 20.
