50-cent.jpg50 Cent appeared in family court in Central Islip, Long Island on Friday (June 22) to argue that the mother of his 10-year-old son, Marquis, is making unreasonable demands for financial support. According to the New York Daily News, Marquis’ mother — Shaniqua Tompkins — says that the $25,000 a month she is currently receiving from the rap star isn’t enough to provide for the child in “the appropriate manner.” Tompkins lawyer, Raoul Felder, asserted that, “This guy is worth tens and tens of millions of dollars.” 50 insisted the matter be decided by a judge after Tompkins recently started demanding more money from the G-Unit founder, who earned $33 million last year according to a recent report by Forbes Magazine. “She is insatiable,” said 50’s lawyer, Brett Kimmel. “Her demands keep escalating.” Despite the disagreement, 50 doesn’t appear to be letting a financial dispute sour his relationship with his son’s mother. “I love her. I think she's a sweetheart,” he said of Tompkins when speaking to the Daily News last week prior to Friday’s hearing. 50 and Tompkins are scheduled to continue their closed door hearings on Thursday (June 28).
