david-banner11.jpgRapper and producer David Banner recently auditioned for a supporting role in the upcoming sequel to the 2005 film Batman Begins. According to MTV News, Banner tried out for the part of Gamble, a brand new nemesis that will do battle with the caped crusader in the movie. The Dark Knight, scheduled for a 2008 release, is being directed by Christopher Nolan and is the second installment in the new generation of Batman films. The Mississippi born MC was reportedly so excited about the audition, that he shaved off his trademark beard in an attempt to better fit the part. Should he land the role, The Dark Knight will be Banner’s third major feature film. He made his big screen debut in Black Snake Moan alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci earlier this year, and is also slated to appear in the upcoming This Christmas with R&B artist Chris Brown. In related news, Banner and Compton, CA rapper The Game are both scheduled to perform at the “T-Mobile Hip-Hop Jam Festival” in North Bohemia, Czech Republic on August 3 and 4.
