pitbull.jpgMiami based artist Pitbull is partnering with tequila company Jose Cuervo to conduct a talent search for the next generation of Latino artists. The Cuban-American rapper and fellow Latino artist Chingo Bling of Houston recently teamed up to announce Cuervotón, a traveling talent search that will tour the country searching for hot new talent. Contestants can go to www.cuervoton.com to enter and find out how to submit their demos for a chance to win a record deal with Def Jam's Roc La Familia imprint. Also sponsoring the event are record labels BMI, and Atlantic Records as well as LIFEbeat, The Music Industry Fights AIDS charity organization. Semi-finals will be held in New York, Chicago, Miami, Phoenix and Houston. The final concert event will take place in Chicago in May 2007. “As someone who grew up with obstacles to overcome, I know what it’s like to get a break and work tirelessly to achieve your dreams,” said Pitbull. “This competition provides an opportunity for success to some very talented people who otherwise may never have had the chance. Cuervotón is all about shining a light on Latino musicians and giving them a shot.” In addition to the deal with Roc La Familia, the winner will also be featured on Estudio' 201's Volume 3 CD and will tour the country with Cuervotón in 2008.
