Rapper and actor Mos Def has been selected as a juror at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, which kicked off this week in Park City, Utah. The Brooklyn lyricist will serve alongside actress and director Sarah Polley, director Catherine Hardwicke, Film Independent executive director Dawn Hudson and film editor Pamela Martin on the jury for the U.S. dramatic-film competition, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Sundance Festival, which began as the Utah/United States Film Festival in 1978, is considered to be one of the top festivals in the film industry, drawing professionals and critics from all over the world. Each year, thousands of films are submitted for consideration, and winning productions frequently go on to achieve commercial and critical success.
