Artists Unite for Darfur Benefit Tour

darfur-logo.jpgA group of concerned rappers will set off on a 20-city tour in an effort to raise money for and public awareness about the ongoing crisis in the African nation of Sudan. The Save Darfur Tour will feature appearances from C Rayz Walz, Hangar 18, Vakill, Grayskul and Copywrite and is set to kick off in New York toward the end of January. All proceeds from the tour will be donated to various nonprofit organizations whose missions are to educate the public about the systematic genocide underway in the Darfur region of Sudan. The deadly situation in Sudan has been going on since 2003, with groups of armed rebels on one side and government-backed militias on the other. It is estimated that over 400,000 men, women and children have been slaughtered since the conflict began.
