Aphilliates Music Group Officially Inks Deal with Asylum Records

drama.jpgAsylum Records, a division of Warner Music Group, recently announced a partnership with the Atlanta-based Aphilliates Music Group. Founded in 2003 by DJ Drama, DJ Sense and Don Cannon, the Aphilliates Music Group is comprised of a number of mixtape and artist affiliated DJs. Under the new agreement, Asylum will provide marketing, sales and distribution support to the Aphilliates roster of artists, which includes Michigan native Willie The Kid. Asylum has enjoyed continued success on the charts over the last couple of years, and the label saw four of their artists, including Mike Jones and Paul Wall, debut in the Billboard Top 10 in 2005. Todd Moscowitz, Asylum’s President, commented, “Under the leadership of Drama and his partners, Aphilliates has emerged as an innovative and successful independent hip-hop label. We look forward to combining our expertise in independent sales, marketing and distribution to help support and develop these talented entrepreneurs and their roster of DJs and artists.”

We took our hustle knowledge (the know how to get money) and made shit happen in the “A”. Don’t hate on a brother because he ain’t rep’n “Philly”. Philly shit didn’t work down here – so in order to make the people happy Down South – you have to give’em what they want and still capitalize off.

    I am from NY – lived in damn near every borough – Left NY because I wanted to do better for myself – and guess what – Nigga’s changed the game – ATL wasn’t always poppin’ but when up North nigga came on the scene down here (including Midwest and the West) – we were the catalyst for making this city (in the music industry) what it is today – STOP HATIN – GET UP GET OUT AND GET SOMETHING

    If where every you are and you ain’t gettin’ it – go some place else and get – who give a fuck about rep’n your home town – in your heart, you know where you are from – you can rep it to the fulliest – but if you want paper – staying in your “hometown” doesn’t always work
