professorx.jpgX-Clan released a pair of acclaimed albums in the early ’90s and were well known for their Afrocentric style, political acumen and funky samples. Professor X (born Lumumba Carson) was the son of civil rights activist Sonny Carson, who passed away in 2002. Prof. X began as X-Clan’s manager, but soon became the voice of the group after gaining attention for his boisterous catch phrases. He released two solo albums in the early ’90s, and made more recent news when he auctioned off a day of his company on eBay in 2004.
