On Sunday (Dec. 17), Diddy made known his plans to buy the NFL's Carolina Panthers and despite his status as a near-billionaire with decades of experience in the business and entertainment world, Bay Area sports reporter Henry Wofford mocked his announcement during a recent news segment.

“The guy looks high right there in this video,” Wofford said on KRON4 program, The World According to Darya. “He looks like he smoked a blunt and drank a 40. Come on, I’m not taking him seriously," he continued, jokingly claiming that Diddy was using drugs.

Predictably, more than a few people are upset with Wofford's comments. One of them is Nipsey Hussle, who criticized Wofford and the show host Darya Folsom for dismissing Diddy's NFL team-owning ambitions.

"I’m offended to my core," Nipsey wrote in an Instagram post including video of the moment Wofford and Folsom made their comments. "And both these clowns can’t even pay the water bill at one of @diddy estates...but THEY CANT TAKE HIM SERIOUS? 'He looked like he jus finished Drinking a 40?' You talking bout a owner of a vodka company! 'I don’t even know what he does' @forbes do tho. 'You gotta stay in yo comfort zone?' That’s the mentality of a FAILURE!! U Never speak when you This STUPID AND OUT THE LOOP OF REALITY!!! @diddy I HOPE THEY MOTIVATED U EVEN MORE AND WHEN U BECOME THE 1st Blac @NFL owner we gone only wear Yo team jerseys and make sure u get a super bowl trophy!!! Fucc these bitches and this whole way of thinking... I’m HOT AT THIS!! #blackexcellence Time to take bac what’s ours!!!"

For his part, Wofford's since come forth to apologize for his comments. In the public apology, published on KRON4's official website, the reporter says that, even though he was joking, he was wrong for insinuating that Diddy used drugs and downplaying his success up to this point.

"Sean Combs has a long history of success in the music industry and he has done a wonderful job investing millions of dollars in multiple businesses," Wofford wrote.
