Koran Streets Drops New Video for “Hard”
Koran Streets does not have much widespread recognition, and that needs to change. The Berkeley-based MC is one of hidden gems on the West Coast, as seen on his recently released You.Know.I.Got.It (The Album). The California rhymer is slowly gaining some national attention and hopes to increase that with the music video for his song "Hard."
The visual is inspired by Tupac Shakur's 1994 film Above the Rim. The song itself is inspired by the late Bankroll Fresh, who was tragically killed in March 2016.
"In the video, I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite rapper and actor Tupac; that's where I got the Above the Rim concept from," Koran Streets said. "I also wanted to pay homage to Bankroll Fresh. He was one of my favorite rappers at the time of his passing. His last words to the world on his Instagram, he starts off by saying, 'Had to let these niggas know I'm going hard as ever,' so in the first verse of 'Hard' I say, 'R.I.P BANKROLL I'M GOING HARD AS EVER!' The life of Bankroll Fresh inspired the song. The life of Tupac inspired the video."
